The Bear Facts
A great example of a Merrythought Teddy Bear who comes for the 1990's.
When he came from the factory he was called Barton but when he came to live with us, like all other Teddy Bears, we gave him a name which we thought suited him we added the name Jack - Jack Barton.
He is a beautiful little teddy bear who looks like he is ready for loads of fun and adventure.
Some of the best loved teddy bears in the world were made by Merrythought.
The factory is tucked away in a beautiful part of the country in a place called Ironbridge.
As well as producing some gorgeous character bears and classic teddy bears they also make a number of limited edition bears.
Of course, the firm is well known for their famous Cheeky Bear who comes in just about all sizes and colours.
Amongst some of the earlier bears created by this company is the famous Bingie Bear.
Merrythought have also made some extremely large dressed teddy bears who stand some six feet tall and they include a guardsman, a nurse and a highlander.

Donald Campbell had a mascot teddy bear called Mr Whoppit who certainly lived life in the fast lane.
Faithful until death, he was with Campbell on his last record breaking attempt when Bluebird crashed. It is said that Mr Whoppit survived due to his lightweight kapok stuffing. Mr Whoppit floated to the surface; his master's body was sadly never found.
