The Bear Facts
John and Maude Blackburn started to produce their own teddy bears back in 1979.
Since their birth Canterbury Bears have become very popular and are now collected by many teddy bear collectors all around the world.
Some of their most popular teddy bears include Clan Bears, a bear called Domino who had a white mohair head and a body and limbs which was half black and half white.
In 1995 they also produced Baby Dressing Gown Bears, small teddy bears who measured just 5 inches tall and who were made of camel hair.
In 1991, the teddy bear company called Gund became the company's exclusive distributor, Canterbury Bears making some bears especially for them.
We think that Chester is certainly one of their finest teddy bears.
